Just Like Sisters is "Starry, Starry Night" Sponsor

Richmond, VA August 15, 2005 - When Richmond area business women gather to celebrate American Business Women's Day on September 23, Just Like Sisters LLC (JLS) will be a major supporter. The event celebrates the achievements and contributions of millions of women in the American workforce.

The first ABW Day was celebrated in 1982 by the members of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). In 1983 and 1986, joint congressional resolutions were passed designating September 22 as a national day of observance. President Ronald Reagan issue a presidential proclamation following each resolution.

The Richmond area 2005 ABW Day celebration, "A Starry, Starry Night," will bring together Richmond area businesswomen at the Executive Dining Room of the SunTrust headquarters building on September 23. A networking reception will begin at 5:30 pm and the Awards Program will start at 6:30 pm. The Richmond STAR awards will be presented to outstanding local women in the fields of the arts, community service, education, law and small business ownership.

As a Silver Star Event Sponsor, JLS will help sponsor the visit of a number of ABWA VIPs from across the county, including District Vice President Robin Necci, Resource Coordinator for Communities in Schools of Randolph County, Greensboro, NC.

Just Like Sisters Helps Sponsor Women's Memorial Golf Tournament

Richmond, VA July 30, 2005 - Just Like Sisters recently supported the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation by contributing to The 19th Annual Women's Memorial Golf Tournament in Richmond. Proceeds from the tournament support work on behalf of all Virginians affected by breast cancer.

Higgins Elected to Chair Business Women's Council

Richmond, VA March 1, 2005 -- Just Like Sisters founder, Karen D. Higgins has been elected to chair the Richmond Area Council of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). The Council is an alliance of the six ABWA chapters and networks in the Richmond area and brings together representatives of those groups to "work together to make ABWA better known in the area and to establish a closer bond among chapters and members." Since its founding in 1982, the Council has sponsored a number of events to work toward its goals, including workshops and seminars and the annual city-wide celebration of American Business Women's Day every September. In 2004, Council member chapters/networks sponsored the ABWA National Convention in Richmond.
