Who we are... |

When Karen Higgins and Kathy Pieper founded Just Like Sisters (JLS), they were committed to using company profits to help transform the lives of children in need. Just Like Sisters, a company dedicated to building friendships and spreading joy, develops unique products for women that enhance their well-being and increase the joy in their lives. |

The foundation supports children in need to enrich their lives. The foundation is dedicated to supporting, promoting, improving and transforming the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical needs of children. Just Like Sisters wants to be "The Sister Solution" - especially to children who may have lost their desire to hope. We want to encourage all children to discover their desires and "Unwrap the Joy" within. Everyone should experience all the love and life that was intended for them. Some children face unusual circumstances and need assistance to get them on the right track. That's where we can step in and lend a hand. An unexpected kindness may have the greatest impact on our lives. Our goal is to spread the JOY! The first grant awarded by the Foundation helped a Richmond area 8th grader afford the help she needed to boost her self-confidence and cope with an autoimmune condition. The board of directors meets in the late spring and late fall each year to make grant making decisions. Applicants are notified of their grants in late May or early June. The average grant is $500. Individual grant size may fluctuate over time, dependent upon foundation funding. Final decisions on the amount of each grant are determined by applicant qualifications and the seriousness of the need. Normally, grants are awarded for one year. While the fund has so far concentrated its grant making in the Richmond, Virginia area, we are always open to funding beyond Richmond. Requests for funding should be mailed to Just Like Sisters Foundation, 2401 Whitecastle Drive, Midlothian, Virginia 23113. |

The foundation is funded by profit-sharing from Just Like Sisters, LLC, periodic fundraising events and private donations. We are a private, nonprofit foundation. Whether it's with a fundraiser at the race track or through private donations, we intend to spread faith, love and joy to those who need a helping hand. |
